Judy may have been born in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, but she made her way to Los Angeles and has spent the past twenty-five years working as a professional actress. She has performed many roles on stage and screen, her most recent work includes episodes of True Blood, Grey’s Anatomy, Cold Case, Bones, and the films Islander and Hit and Runway.
Judy started writing poems as a child in order to better understand the world around her and answer the many questions she had, particularly about the predestination of squirrels! in Searching for Cecy: Reflections on Alzheimer’s, which is her first book, Judy’s illuminating poetry reflects her mixed feelings; anger, sadness, confusion, anxiousness and yearning, the endless searching and even the occasional celebrations that have emerged during her mother, Cecy’s, 12-year-long journey with Alzheimer’s. Judy found that writing gave her a way to cope with the fading sense of security and normalcy that comes when a loved one, especially a parent, is diagnosed with a degenerative disease.
She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, daughter, cat, dog and her banjo.
